At single cell level a lot of studies is being carried out for gene expression analysis . There are many biases and artifacts present in the data and it takes a huge amount of time and effort to overcome these. Recently, Mc Carthy D.J. et al. have developed a package in R language which carries out normalization, quality control and preprocessing.
The package takes the raw gene expression data and converts it into graphical plots. It also provides a flexible data structure which can be used with existing graphical tools.
The open source code is can be obtained from the following website http://bioconductor.org/packages/scater
