Once the protein is synthesized a lot of post-translational changes are done, the most common being protein phosphorylation catalyzed by protein kinases. Protein phosphorylation is responsible for carrying out various physiological conditions and is found to be altered in disease states. Various chip arrays are being used for measuring the activities of kinases.
