With the completion of huge number of bacterial genome projects, a large amount of sequencing data is available for analysis. Nowadays a large amount of comparative sequence analysis is being carried out for members of different species of the same genus. Thus tools for analysing this data become increasingly important.
Insyght is one such comparative tool which can operate across species. Lacroix et al. (2016) have used 2688 bacterial genomes available at Ensembl to increase the scope of Insyght. They have also devised a virtual machine which enables users to set up their own local Insyght.
