Secondary structural consensus for protein families in OverProt

There are a number of distinctive secondary structures seen in each protein family. However, one structure cannot adequately represent the entire family due to individual variances. A secondary structural consensus that demonstrates both the general fold of the family and its variation can be produced with OverProt. The authors service offers precomputed results for all CATH superfamilies and user-defined computations. These results are displayed in an interactive viewer that displays information on the secondary structure element’s type, length, frequency of occurrence, spatial variability, and -connectivity.
