Homologous recombination is a critical evolutionary process in bacteria and other prokaryotes that promotes genomic sequence diversity and adaptation.Several methodologies and tools have been developed to discover genomic locations recently altered by recombination. Exploration and visualisation of such recombination events can provide crucial biological insights, but they are challenging to accomplish.
Recently Chaguza C.et. al. (2022) have developed RCandy, a platform-independent R tool for quickly, easily, and customising recombination events in bacterial genomes.Source code of the program is available at the following URL: https://github.com/ChrispinChaguza/RCandy
