Protein synthesis in Arabidopsis mitochondria

Protein synthesis in mitochondria of higher plants like Arabidopsis is different from their corresponding bacterial counterpart in many ways. Recently Planchard et. al.(2018) have used ribosome profiling to make a complete landscape of translation in mitochondia of Arabidopsis.
Certain respiratory subunits which code for mRNAs have been found to be linked to more ribosomes than their other counterparts.Broadly speaking they have found that mitochondrial translation is a very versatile phenomenon and is very crucial for gene expression.
