So far the scientists can only share the protein structure information in 2 dimensions which is a major drawback as the protein structures in 2D are static. The 3D structure can be shared if one has the knowledge of web coding. It’s not easy to embed the 3D structures in web pages.
Ferla M.P. et. al. (2020) have developed a tool called MichelaNGLO which can easily create, customize and share the protein structures on web. The program is written in python.The code is freely available at the following URL: https://github.com/thesgc/MichelaNGLo.
