GenMap: An efficient and very fast algorithm for determining the mappability of genome.

Design of guide RNA for CRISPR experiments relies on computation of k-mers for every position of genome. The calculation of e mismatches in these k-mers is computationally difficult. Genome mappability in terms of k-mers allowing e mismatches can be defined in terms of reciprocal of frequency of occurence of k-mers in the genome.

Pockrandt C. et al.(2020) have developed a computational method to calculate k mer mappability across multiple genomes. GenMap supports many formats like CSV, binary etc. to give the position of k-mers. The source code has been written in C++ and is available on https://github.com/cpockrandt/genmap.
